Ok, most of us in the electrical profession can get a stop/start push button station to turn a motor contactor on and off, but do we remember how to size the overloads, the conductors, or how about the short-circuit protection? From time to time we all need to get back to basics and exercise the old noodle. This seminar/class will go over the NEC requirements using examples for you to work through. That means pencil, paper, calculators, and your code book. Maybe you don’t have to use a #2 AWG THWN, perhaps that is over kill, let’s calculate it out. Now as an electrician you know that this will not be just Art. 430, we will have to use numerous other Articles and Tables to find our solutions to the problems. Ever consider voltage drop? We will! This session will use student and instructor developed examples from industry, single motor branch circuits to multiple motor circuits and feeders.
