This class will cover a base understanding of the 7-layer Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model. Gain an understanding on hardware components used in an industrial network to include: switches, hubs, cables and routers. Gain an understanding of IP addresses, subnets, topology’s and VLAN’s. Perform a quick start procedure with a Stratix 5700, also establish a connection with a 525 drive, and point I/O. Gain a base understanding and the usage of the cmd (command prompt) for troubleshooting.
