COURSE PURPOSE

This online seminar will examine the NFPA-70E, new changes to the standards and how they interrelate with OSHA cfr29 – 1910 for electrical maintenance. Arc Flash is one of the major focuses of the seminar.

  • How and why shock happens
  • Hazards of Arc Flash: Shock, arc burn, arc blast, fires
  • 70E Ch. 1: Safety-related work practices
  • 70E Article 120: Establishing an electrically safe work condition
  • 70E Article 130: Working on or near live parts
  • 70E Ch. 2: Safety related maintenance requirements
  • Inspecting, testing and using PPE
  • Verifying de-energization with a Voltmeter
  • Identifying if equipment is ready for use
