COURSE PURPOSE:

Electrical injuries are the fourth leading cause of work-related deaths in the U.S., and they are most common in the construction industry. This course will cover the dangers of arc flash and the National Electrical Code (NEC) regulations regarding arc flash safety. Students will understand arc flash PPE and warning sign requirements and will be able to perform an Arc Flash Hazard Analysis.  Learn more »

  • Reviewing arc flash risk assessment procedures
  • Identifying steps and risks of creating an electrically safe work condition
  • Defining the responsibilities of the employer and employee in applying safety-related work practices
  • Reviewing lockout/tagout procedures
  • Understanding hazards related to arc flash
  • Identifying the information required for an Arc Flash Hazard Analysis
  • Understanding arc flash PPE requirements
