COURSE DESCRIPTION

This class will cover a base understanding of the 7-layer Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model. Gain an understanding on hardware components used in an industrial network to include switches, hubs, cables, and routers. Gain an understanding of IP addresses, subnets, topology’s and VLAN’s. Perform a quick start procedure with a Stratix 5700, also establish a connection with a 525 drive, and point I/O. Gain a base understanding and the usage of the CMD (command prompt) for troubleshooting.
