CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA – (October 9, 2025) – Van Meter Inc. is investing in the future of the electrical industry through its 2026 Spark Your Success Scholarship, designed to support individuals pursuing careers in the electrical trades. The scholarship is open to those who have earned a high school diploma or GED and are continuing their education in fields that power our communities and infrastructure.
“At Van Meter, we believe in the power of purpose-driven work,” said Danielle Monthei, Community Impact Manager at Van Meter. “Supporting education in the electrical space is more than a priority—it’s a responsibility. We’re proud to help emerging talent build meaningful careers in industries that are vital to our future.”
As the U.S. transitions toward greater electrification, demand for electricity is projected to rise by 25% by 2030 and 78% by 2050, according to Pew. This surge is fueled by growth in electric vehicles, smart buildings, advanced manufacturing, and data centers. Skilled tradespeople—especially electricians—will be essential to building and maintaining the infrastructure that supports this transformation.
The need for skilled labor extends beyond construction. Forbes reports over 1 million unfilled trade jobs nationwide, including 500,000 in manufacturing. Van Meter sees this as an opportunity to empower the next generation of tradespeople with the tools and support they need to succeed.
“The Spark Your Success Scholarship is an investment in people,” Monthei added. “The electrical industry offers diverse career paths, competitive pay, and the chance to make a real impact. We believe that anyone with a strong work ethic and a desire to power progress can thrive here.”
Van Meter’s commitment to community is a cornerstone of its culture. The ideal scholarship applicant is someone who not only wants to build a career in the trades but also seeks to uplift the communities where they live and work.
“People in this industry have a lot of heart,” said Monthei. “We’re looking for individuals who share our values—those who care deeply, work hard, and want to make a difference.”
Eligible applicants may be enrolled in apprenticeship programs or associate/undergraduate degree programs in fields such as engineering, supply chain management, information technology, solar installation, construction management, or electrical distribution.
Applications are open through January 30, 2026. To apply, candidates must complete an application form and submit a letter of recommendation at vanmeterinc.com/scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be announced in May.
