COURSE DESCRIPTION:
FIVE-DAY COURSE
This course provides information on valve maintenance and repair activities associated with common valves used in industrial applications. This course assumes that the student is familiar with valve fundaments.
After completing this course, students should be able to perform the following tasks:
- Identify and replace worn valve components
- Identify high wear components of valves
- Explain preventative maintenance
- List indications that a valve requires corrective maintenance
- Discuss tag out procedures for valve isolations
- Demonstrate how to properly repack a valve
- Describe various types of packing and their applications
- Describe various types of gaskets and their applications
- Explain precautions associated with working with packing and insulation
