COURSE PURPOSE

This instructor-led course is designed to provide basic knowledge of the terminology, functions, and features of FactoryTalk® Optix Studio™ software. Instructor-led training courses allow you to work with an instructor and other students in a group environment.

After completing training, you should be able to:

  • Navigate through the FactoryTalk Optix Studio environment and determine feature tokens
  • Create and configure the FactoryTalk Optix user interface
  • Configure and monitor data, events, and alarms
  • Create recipes and manage them at runtime
  • Define security for projects, panels, and objects

  • Introduction to the FactoryTalk Design Hub
  • Explore the FactoryTalk Optix Studio Environment
  • Create a Simple Hello World FactoryTalk Optix Project
  • Configure Presentation Engines and Run a FactoryTalk Optix Application

DAY 2

  • Configure Communications for a FactoryTalk Optix Project
  • Create Variables in a FactoryTalk Optix Project
  • Configure Events and Methods in a FactoryTalk Optix Project
  • Create and Animate Graphic Objects in a FactoryTalk Optix Project

DAY 3

  • Configure Converters in a FactoryTalk Optix Project
  • Build and Version Local Libraries in a FactoryTalk Optix Project
  • Configure Data Loggers in a FactoryTalk Optix Project
  • Create and Run Data Control Objects in a FactoryTalk Optix Project
  • Create Alarms in a FactoryTalk Optix Project

  • Configure Event Loggers in a FactoryTalk Optix Project
  • Manage Recipes in a FactoryTalk Optix Project
  • Define Security in a FactoryTalk Optix Project

Technology Requirements

All technology is provided for student use in the classroom by Rockwell Automation. It is not necessary for students to bring any technology with them when attending this course.

Throughout this course, you will have the opportunity to practice the skills you have learned through a variety of hands-on exercises. These exercises focus on the skills introduced in each lesson.
