How to use the innovative solar module wire management system

Wire management in the field is an important element of every installation, but it can often be cumbersome, unorthodox and inefficient.

THE PROBLEM

Short leads require making and using jumpers to reach your MLPE. Conventional modules also require the use of common wire clips and zip ties, further adding time and labor to every project.

THE SOLUTION

Our field-inspired module with an innovative built-in wire management frame on all four sides eliminates the need for jumpers, wire clips and zip ties. This makes the installation process quicker, easier and safer. Plus, it keeps your wires protected from weather damage and interference from critters.

SCENARIO #1: MLPE MOUNTED TO MODULE

In this scenario, the MLPE (Module-Level Power Electronics) is already mounted to the module (multi-MLPEs are supported). The long lead eliminates the need for jumpers, and the built-in wire management frame allows you to simply push the wires into the frame profile and plug it into the MLPE. The frame's capacity to accommodate wires up to two deep provides flexibility in coil management, adding an extra layer of adaptability to the system.

The frame allows room for two wires, so you can coil as needed.

SCENARIO #2: MLPE MOUNTED TO THE RAIL

Another example is when the MLPE is mounted to the rail. In this scenario, you’ll want to plug the wire into the MLPE before laying the module down. Once you lay the module down, simply secure the wire within the frame to keep it off the roof. No clips needed!

SCENARIO #3: GROUND MOUNT APPLICATION

If you are mounting on the ground and need to keep the wire finger safe, critter safe and safe from the elements, simply tuck the wire into the frame. You can no longer feel the wire because it is safe and secure within the frame.

Built for the installer, the durable frame provides protection from the elements and simplifies installation. If you have questions about the wire management system, reach out here or contact your Van Meter sales representative.
